A national aviation safety regulatory function is established in each state. Globally there is a considerable variation in the implementation of international standards and recommended practices at national level. This allows for regional flexibility but also leads to some inconsistency both among but also within states. Aligning the application and implementation of the different regulatory frameworks is a key challenge for ensuring aviation safety.

This workshop has the objective to facilitate an exchange between the EU and China about different oversight practices and mechanisms to ensure that rules and regulations are applied in a uniform way.
